Why Move, Relocate, Retire To Maine?

Why Move, Relocate, Retire To Maine?

Maine, a five letter word that causes smiles, feelings of contentment, a sense of natural beauty.

Special peaceful places abound in Maine. Whether you like to sit, ponder, reflect on a Maine lake, next to a stately lighthouse on the rugged rock bound coastline.

Or sitting, perched on a tractor tilling a fertile field on a Maine farm.

Or hiking up Mt Katahdin, around Acadia National Park.

The cherry on top is the price you pay for property in Maine is always low.

Getting more for less than most places on the globe happens in Maine. The real estate purchase in Maine is always a good investment. One you will enjoy to the hilt, more than most you enter in to in life.

So maybe you are nearing retirement, or thinking raising the kids in a place that is worth relocating to with no crime, better schools and friendlier surroundings. Maine is always your best case scenario.

Or even for short stints, visits to relax and enjoy four seasons sporting, Maine gets high marks in that department too. WARNING: Don’t rely on folks who have never been here to Maine as your local experts, resource. Our FAQ video for Maine helps set the stage of what to expect, how things roll here in Vacationland.

If you are just toying with a Maine real estate investment, relocation or retirement maneuver, start by scoping out the state itself. Learn about the people, the climate and topography. Maine is one big state and when you let the single syllable roll off the tip of your tongue, it can hit people, affect them different ways. Because the state is so big. The terrain and flavor so varied.

My recommendation is watch our community video series for Maine. See the lighthouses, horseshows, farmers markets, ski trips, outdoor celebrations over our 4th of July and other local events.

Then follow this blog and our MeInMaine posts that really zero in on the heart of what life in Maine is all about. The people make the state of Maine. Their values, family and work ethics, God fearing ways make them a people you can warm up to, learn from and rely on.

Down to earth, keeping Maine life simple, real, enjoyable. Never lazy and always willing to lend a helping hand. Maine people care about each other. Need each other in this under populated rural state. Appreciate living in one drop dead gorgeous state like Maine, the one in the upper right hand corner of the country. The one almost in Canada.

Start small, take baby steps and let the one by one images of Maine play, dance, pass by your eyes.  Slowly she will grab hold of your heart in a good way. Never let go with her playful tug at the strings that make you happy, content, at peace. Maine, get here quick as you can. Come for a day, stay a lifetime.

My youngest son continues in the tradition on that same Maine farm. Here to help with property searches for homes, farms, land, waterfront, multi housing rentals, small mom and pop business listings.
