Me Real Estate Changes

How has the job of marketing Maine real estate changed? Over the last 31 years, the process of marketing property listings in Maine has become way way more technical, detailed. And with the use of more media like video, better and more plentiful imagery, helpful blog post information.

Loaded, jammed packed with time and money saving links.

Today a Maine real estate buyer can gain everything about the property listing quickly with use of many media streams we harness, feed, upload to the Internet around the clock, every day.

But besides just the details on the “sticks and bricks”, boatloads of information needs to be put together on sites, blog posts, social media outlets about the local community areas we serve.

The buyer for Maine real estate is not just local any more. Years ago we could catch a few outside prospects with direct mail, outside newspaper and magazine ads. Maybe because they were from the area, had family or some other connection to the local area. But today, rather than hope that outside Maine real estate buyer sees the expensive weekend ad for a waterfront second home listing, we send up property listing, area information fireworks 24/7/365.

Maine Real estate, local community videos especially provide open hour tours, community event promotion, exposure no matter what hour of the day / night. Blog posts specifically written for this segment of the real estate audience cures the thirst, hunger of the buyer. The folks on the other end of the signal asking lots of questions. Demanding to be fed the details that only a local person living in the area they are considering buying in can supply. To be accurate, up to date and detailed just the way they need it.

So doing local Maine blog posts that show the outside real estate buyer what they are missing out on not being here are critical. Or that show and tell about what they would be doing for outdoor four season recreation, fun if they were here right now. Or next fall, winter, spring, summer.

Simply what does the area look like, what are the people like?

That’s what we report to them. We write, post like a cub reporter what is happening in our local Maine zip codes we serve. Today’s Maine real estate agent, broker, REALTOR needs to be a journalist, a broadcaster, tourism expert, a part banker, part lawyer and all around local information resource.

Anyone moving, relocating, retiring or investing in any part of the country, not just Maine, would need to do their homework. To compare it to where they live now. Or did in the past to use as a reference guide. To know what to expect. That is what the information we upload and post around the Internet is key.

So how has the way we market Maine real estate changed over the last three plus decades? More detailed, far reaching and instantly accessible. No more waiting for a return phone call, a mailer to arrive in the box out front where they live now. Drive through quick and efficient. Or it should be.
