But the bigger question when asked in the aisle of a big box store.
Or at a convenience store check out line, little league game.
Is not how is the market for Maine real estate today.
But where is the hot spot, where is the dead zone and why.
To share in the conversation with whoever you bump into that asks. The all important questions around what I have done for 35 years. Working through all kinds of economic scenarios.
In all different market conditions for real estate listings, sales in Maine.

Remind that real estate property sales are swimming in market of listing pools in a rainbow of all shapes, colors, sizes, prices.
Because if there is one big supply of Victorian houses or ranch rambler 5-3-1 room count properties, the price dips.
Or the large amount of that one flavor of real estate listing lingers, loiters on the local marketing carousel. That spins or stalls or is just like a kinked water hose.
Where there is a market but a feeble pulse on actual real estate sales monitor readings.
But when there is a shortage of a certain market segment for listings for sale, it’s red alert, watch out battle stations.
Those as hard as finding hen’s teeth or needle in the haystack, four leaf clover type listings are suddenly gold.
Fly off the shelves on the Maine property listing website.
And when you add a willingness for the owner to finance a sale, hold the note, take back paper on the property listing payment installments.
Those are even easier to guide to the closing table for the sit down transfer of title. Because less obstacles hindering the sale of the real estate property listing no matter if the market is good, bad or just ugly.
There is always a market in real estate in Maine, anywhere locally or halfway across the solar system.
Real estate sales never stop no matter the weather, local conditions. The shift from wanna buy to gotta sell create a presure either way on the real estate teeter totter balancing act.
In Maine, the what’s being sold is way way beyond just homes, houses too.
Never forget the land component to the real estate listing sales, the market.
Because we have more wildlife, acreage space than people.
Are underpopulated, under valued too. A sleeping giant especially for low cost land listings here in Maine.
The scales get tipped down hill, hard one way or the other too if something happens unique to the local economy.
Like a major employer, a mill in Maine paddle locking it’s factory doors event splashed in black and white on the local newspaper. And it’s hit an iceberg, there goes the local economy.
Like a big plug was yanked, a gaping shot gun wound just happened.
Bleeding out quickly and down the tubes she goes.
Hang on as a vacuum, whirlpool sucks the life out of the market that is for real estate.
Ask a local professional how’s the Maine real estate market and specify not wanting an overall glossing one word answer.
But specifically how is the land sales in Maine segment. Or the supply and demand of apartment rental unit income generating properties type currently for sale. How is this or that area, corner of the Maine real estate market percolating?
Just chugging along, stalled and on life support and why is it that way explained. Nice to know. Timing is everything in life and real estate listing, sales, the market in Maine is up, down, sidesways affected by when you jump in or out because of it.
