Maine Land, Recreational Land Buys As A Group.

Maine Land, Recreational Land Buys As A Group.

Buying Maine land in a round robin fashion, collectively with a group of purchasers or grantees.

Lots of folks do that in Maine. Often it is a fish and game, rod and reel club approach to the Maine recreational property purchase.

Just sold a hunting / fishing camp in Maine that was owned sinced the 1960’s by a group from Pennsylvania.

The sporting group came up as many times as possible through the year. Every year.

Traditions, memories made at the simple Maine sporting camp happened. Snap shots filled up the family albums.

The Maine camp, cabin does not have to be that special.

Just placed in the middle of the Maine woods, with access to lakes, rivers and trails. For exploring with the four wheeler ATV and snow sled.

To hike nearby places like Baxter State Park. Where Mt Katahdin and other elevations wait to conquer one by one. Collecting them together. Over the years.  And revisits with their kids through out their childhood. They adopt the same habit with their children on the vacation trips to Maine.

It may all start with just buying a piece of inexpensive Maine land and building something together.

Chipping in for a kit from many local Maine cedar and pine log cabin makers. Or picking your favorite already built. Out of the field at the closest Amish settlement. To have moved to your lot, acreage in Maine. Maybe a visit to the local hardware lumber yard. Building from scratch. Possibly pulling in a fifth wheel for now as “camp” use for now.

If the Maine real estate on a lake happens, the place is used by the group. In timeshare fashion when all can not be there together. And possibly rented out for upkeep, maintenance expenses too. The same folks rent the particular week they start out with year after year. So soon, no occupancy, vacancy happens.

The sporting, recreational camp in Maine that is bought for little money that creates a big return on four season fun can be a starter place. You get an acre. With a cabin that has an open porch, woodstove, four sets of bunks and the outhouse. A stream to walk to for water to cook. Cool off in the pool out front on hot summer days. Bought for under $10,000 and when six partners are involved, you do the math. hungrymainebirds

Suddenly the $1000 that each used to spend a week during say hunting season each year at a sporting lodge or motel seems better funneled a new way. Into your own shack, Maine cabin, camp.

And each visit there are projects to do before the fun starts. The rest and relaxation and unplugging happen.

Fix that leak on the roof. Jack up that northwest corner and level the place. Repace the porch railing. Wire for a generator. Roll in a new piglet gas cylinder.

Build a storage shed for wood and the tools. Your chainsaw, gas cans, life jackets and fishing rods. Tools like hammers, nails, crowbar, saw horses. Extra shingles, pane glass, siding and ladders, etc.

The place gets tweaked, added onto and in time let’s sell and get more land in Maine. Located near some other new areas to explore. Where depends on what your group likes to do. Or the guys, famlies take the money from the small Maine camp sale proceeds. Split it up. Everyone goes their separate ways. Is free to buy a place, camp, home, whatever of their own in Maine. Or use the profit for traveling the USA. Places in the vacation fun to see what else is out there for adventure. Knowing you can not see the World from your home kitchen window.
